That old man had to have seen the MC's hidden face but lied, something is wrong and he's definitely giving so many rewards for a reason.

That old man had to have seen the MC's hidden face but lied, something is wrong and he's definitely giving so many rewards for a reason.
So, either the old guy staged it for MC because he knows he can open it, perhaps a friend of his father looking after his son. Or he REALLY wants what's inside and is using ridiculous rewards to tempt as many people to try as possible to take it for himself once it's open.
